Neal Sklaver, MD, FACP

An Honors graduate of Williams College, Neal L. Sklaver, received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1968. He completed a four-year internship and residency in Internal Medicine in Chicago at Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital, where he received awards as the Outstanding House Officer and was Chief Medical Resident. In 1972 he became and remains certified as a specialist in the field of Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

After serving as a Major in the United States Army and Chief of Professional Services at the Fort Sheridan Health Clinic in Illinois, Dr. Sklaver began his private practice in Dallas in 1974.

His numerous organizational appointments include membership in the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Society, the Dallas County Medical Society, and the American College of Physicians. He was chosen among his peers to be listed among the Best Doctors in America, Super Physicians in Texas Monthly and Best Doctors in D Magazine.

Dr. Sklaver is a major Dallas-area examiner for several national executive examination companies, including Comprehensive Health Services, Affiliated Physicians, QTC Health Services and National Medical Systems, as well as serving as a consultant for the Military Services Entrance Processing Station.
Dr. Sklaver is a major examiner for most insurance companies, as well as the leading paramedical insurance service contractors.

Dr. Sklaver is a senior examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), certified to do all classes of aviation examinations.

Dr. Sklaver is certified as a Medical Review Officer (MRO), performing drug screen evaluations.

Kristy Verver is my current nurse and an expert in her field. Aside from assisting me with patient care, she will handle your phone calls and any necessary prescription refills. Her extension is 270. If you need to speak with me personally, please let Kristy know.

Allison Thomas, R.N., C.N.P., has been my Nurse Practitioner over 10 years, having started with me in 1999. As a Nurse Practitioner, she is licensed to see patients and write prescriptions under my supervision. Nurse Practitioners are licensed and trained to diagnose and treat illnesses, evaluate injuries and manage patient care.  Having a Nurse Practitioner assures me of providing you with care on an as-needed basis at all times. In doing so, Allison will work as part of the patient care team with Nancy and myself.
